Kratos is a 2012 black grade gelding standing about 15.1hh. Trail horse extraordinaire. Superb fox hunter, finished 1st flight/staff horse. Can sit and be the same horse. Neck reins, has gathered and pushed cattle in the pasture and sale barn. Quiet, level-headed. Has been cowboyed in the past and does not need to go to someone who will rough-ride him. Great with kids, dogs, traffic, farm machinery, etc. Trail master, crosses what’s in front of him. Loves water, is our go-to for dragging reluctant colts through tough country. Happy to lead, follow, will ride out alone or away from the group without issue.

Kratos is reliable and consistent. Straightforward and uncomplicated. Loves to work outside the arena, but is rail work is adequate. Happy to work gates, get left behind, and catch up without getting hot or silly. 3 solid gaits, stays underneath of you. Plenty of speed/power when asked, but his default is a relaxed hack on the buckle at any speed. Quiet and easy in a simple snaffle.

Has hunted with North Hills Hunt in Iowa/Nebraska and Fort Leavenworth Hunt and Flint Hills in Kansas. Inquiries to the Masters are welcome. Doesn’t mind the hounds running and jumping around him. A true staple in our hunting horses for hire string - happy to pack around a first-timer in any flight or work as a Huntsman, Master, or Whip horse.

Kratos has nice clean legs and lovely, tight conformation. Flawless ground manners, bathes, ties, loads, backs out of the trailer, hauls well, hobbles, is good with his feet. Fine with cattle, ATVs, kids, farm equipment, other spooking horses, etc. Traffic safe for road riding. Gets along with everybody in the pasture. UTD on teeth, shots, Coggins, etc. Easy keeper, is shod for Hunting. Sound, doesn’t require any maintenance or special care.

Due to my recent ACL surgery, Kratos is currently at Alluring Equine in Bennet, Iowa to help out with summer camp and lessons (rather than sitting around all summer getting fat!). Visits and additional video requests can still be accommodated for serious inquiries.

Will happily work cattle but has a bad history with roping. After a year of quiet retraining, I can rope off him, but I’m not promising he won’t blow a gasket with someone else. It appears he knows something about rating and being in the box. Guessing he’s got some training or history there but I am NOT selling him as a rope, barrel, or game horse without someone putting in the time to finish tightening all the loose screws. Gets quieter and happier every time we go to roping practice. Has been at the sale barn working everything from rank cows to water buffalo, MUCH quieter roping outside the arena. Can shoot and crack a whip off him.

Unparalleled trail horse, our go-to for new riders, or dragging reluctant colts. Does extremely well covering rough country, Kratos is brave, thoughtful, and sure-footed. Ties overnight, hobbles, packs, ponies, pickets, will carry an injured calf/hound, etc.
